Membrane and Materials Research Laboratory
Membrane and Materials Research Laboratory focuses on developing and deploying advanced wastewater treatment and separations technologies across a wide range of sectors.
Specifically MMR lab focuses on fundamental investigation and materials development, with high profile we are exploring and developing new ways to make treatment processes more cost and energy efficient.
Materials research includes synthesis of carbon materials using biomass precursors, development and exploration of polymeric membranes.
Electrode fabrication using AC and CNP are carried out for energy applications.
Modeling of adsorption column and the design parameters are also studied for pilot plant scale up.
Fundamental and applied research in the field of membranes via innovative materials and processes to facilitate the use of membrane technology is also carried out.
Special features such as charged, mixed matrix, biocompatible and their physico-chemical characteristics of the materilas are studied in detail.
Development and intensification of the integrated water treatment technology.
Development of membrane modules for the purpose of systemization and definition of engineering standards and their implementation through technical and industrial platforms.
